From plastic waste to Carpet

Collecting the worst out of the nature

By collecting plastic waste from nature and using it as a raw material for our yarns, we help clean up our environment. Spin Group wants to do more than ‘just’ recycle; we aim to become a circular economy supplier to the carpet industry by using recycled raw materials only.

2

Sorting by color and quality

A strategic alliance with a renowned plastic recycler to qualify the plastic waste in color and quality will enable us to actually realize our goal. By consistently following this path, we expect to use only recycled raw materials by 2025.

3

Shredding into new raw material

After qualifying, the plastic waste is washed, crushed and then shredded into flakes.
By melting, the flakes are then made into consistently shaped pellets.

4

Yarrin synthetic yarns

The pellets are melted and extruded to make synthetic yarn.
The synthetic yarn is cut, drawn, stretched and then spinned.

Weaving it to carpets

The plastic yarn is finally made into carpet by weaving. A backing cloth is attached to make the carpet rigid and to give it more endurance. As a finishing touch, all carpets are marked with a Spin Group Green Label, representing every sustainable step of our production process.
